As you approach the coastal ruins, a guide will illustrate the relevance of this ancient Mayan trading-post, the outstanding history of the Moon Goddess Ixel and her role in this striking city.  You will hike an educational path and learn about the flora and fauna of this amazing jungle.  On the way to the Muyil lagoon, we will stop for a gaze at the highest mirador of the Sian Ka’an Reserve for a unique view of the reserve.  Once you meet your local skipper, you will go for a 2 hour boat-ride across the wetlands.  Visit a secret Maya temple and drift off an ancient canal.  You will float in translucent fresh water; the natural tide will take you across the mangrove.  Once back in Muyil, we will share our experience of this wonderful day around a small cheese and wine appetizer.
